Howdy folks. On today's post, we got a good one. If you missed the previous post, click here to give it a good read.

We have a clear blue Sega OEM VMU, model HKT-7000. I found this one at a GameXchange store in Lexington, KY back in May 2025. The guy at the counter had no fuckin' clue what this thing was when I went to buy it lol. I told him it was a Tamagachi.

Disregard the white label with the number on it, that is something I added as I'm trying to be better about keeping track of VMUs (I have created a spreadsheet to keep track of them).

The clear translucent blue shell reminds me of those rock candy things on a stick I used to see all the time as a kid. I believe this particular color (along with pretty much all the ones that are not the standard white) were ones that were sold individually rather than bundled with a console, as seen here:

I'm using my standard Dreamcast test setup. This consists of a Sega Dreamcast Sports console with a GDEMU w/ 512GB SD Card + DreamPSU + BBA, using my "COPY VMU" which I will explain shortly. I am using an HDMI adapter and a USB capture card for screen grabs. Anyways, let's cut the bullshit and dig in.

Here's the money shot:

On this VMU we have:
- Phantasy Star Online Guild Card + Main Data (!!!)
- Shenmue
- Grandia 2
- Crazy Taxi
- Crazy Taxi 2
- Sega Swirl
- Dead or Alive 2
- Virtua Tennis
- Virtua Cop 2
- PlanetWeb Browser Favorites
- DreamSNES SRAM Save

Below is the full metadata from VMU Explorer:

Okay, there's a lot to unpack here. We got a PSO character + guild card, some web browser favorites/bookmarks, an emulator SRAM save state, and some absolute banger games on this one. It looks like this VMU was last used in November 2002. I like the cool moon icon that they used, as well as blue VMU icon that they used. Blue VMU icon for a blue VMU, makes sense to me.

For the PSO character, I'm not sure if this is a V1 or V2 character. We can decrypt the save files to get the full character details, then re-encrypt it with a SNAK (Serial Number & Access Key) that I own to give the long-lost character a test drive on Sylverant. For the sake of suspense, I'm going to do PSO last.

See ya on the next page.
